This is a very enjoyable game! just fast paced enough to give it a real edge over other puzzle games... Great music also!

It's wonderfull game. I enjoyed it.

It may be useful to add some tile types:
1. as ^>v< but with 4 directions
2. device, that that allows marble to go throw it only once (or more if specified)

Black Myst, the level-selection feature is Debian-specific, and was introduced by Joe Wreschnig, the Debian maintainer.

Pathological 1.1.3 only has 50 levels, after which it chooses levels randomly. So from your description, it sounds like the level-selection behaviour is confusing, but technically not a bug.

I run the 1.1.3 version on debian.

The new feature to select the level on startup is very interresting, but when I select 51 or 52 (I have not unlock 53) the level is random (it's display on top of the screen)
Bug or not feature ?

Random is interresting, but direct acces to 51 too.

Great game. I've been able to run the win version with no problem but I'm having trouble installing the linux version. Probably this is because I'm new to linux and the messages are too cryptic. When I make install, the program stops with a message that something should be done with a post install script. I don't know what this means or how to do it. Some better notation in the error messages would help a lot. The copy files routines seem to work and spread the folders around on my drive but there is no executible anywhere.

It's so incredible nice to see Logical revived again. Just great work!

I only miss one thing - one particular level from the original game. There was this totally impossible "Level 59 - The Haunted House", which took me 3 Months to solve it one single time. Alas, the hard drive on my old i386 machine where the game resided has died in the meantime ...

So, does anyone still have the exact layout of that level? I remember the general outline, but not the exact details. I'd really like to rebuild it, just to get droven nuts again :-)

If it helps, it looked basically like that:

- -------------------
O-O-O O---------O
| | |
O-O O-------O |
O |

Lots of wheels, very short & very long distances, and the Launch Timer was "1"! No rebound allowed! The Haunted House ...
I'm unsure in particular about the bottom-left part. How many wheels, in which exact constellation.

If anybody c

People keep asking about level 37. You are thinking too hard. It's not as difficult as it seems. Anyway, you can skip the level by pressing 'n'. Please read the FAQ.

Hi, i have played Logical on the Amiga some years ago and I really loved it. That's why I am missing the possibility to exchange balls on directly opposing wheels.
In the Amiga-Version, if you were fast enough, you could exchange them, which sometimes saved you life. Here in Pathological the balls are running faster than in the original Logical so this maneuver is perhaps not possible. Anyway, great work.

espacially @ Rory: I programmed a leveleditor for Pathological, but I'm not firm in publishing programs. What must I do?
Annotation: I read the GNU License and added it to my program. I used the graphics of the original game (but I had to change them into BMP; I know that format makes the files a lot larger, but there hadn't been another way)

In almost forgotten times, Logical was one of my favorites. So thanks, you've done a good job. I've a lot of fun playing your game. I'm looking forward for the next levels, but I need help:
Haven't so much time to play all levels from the first start. As already posted by other people, I also would like to have a chance to jump directly to a certain level.

Thanks for all your efforts!

I've added a new page to the website (see FAQ in the menu above) that should answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

I think that there should be a level editor application. I just can't understand the comments in the level text file.

Hi! I read further down that there's some option to make the game better playable for colorblind people. I'm not that much of a computer person so is there any way to do that on the windows version? So far I could only get to level 34 because in many levels I have to place smomeone behind me who tells me what marble what color is and have to press pause every few seconds to ask again. So any tips? I'd appreciate it, 'cause I love the game!
